In the years since her Leukemia (Chronic Lymphocytic) diagnosis on August 10, 2010, Joanne has undergone countless tests, treatments, and procedures, including 6 months of Chemotherapy in 2011. None of which have proven effective against the disease.
However, throughout these difficult times, Joanne has continued to be very active in the community and through Grace Church. Through Believe in the Cure, she cooks meals, mostly with ingredients from her own garden, for patients undergoing chemotherapy. She states that doing this has always kept her life in perspective and gives her strength to keep moving forward.
Recently, Joanne had to put her passion of service for others on hold. With no cure insight, the doctors decided that the best course of action would be to move forward with a bone marrow transplant. Joanne’s transplant is now complete but the costs associated with this lifesaving procedure continue to grow. She is wrapping up her 100+ day stay will be at the James Cancer Institute in Columbus, Ohio soon.
If you find yourself willing, please consider a donation, using the Donate button above, that would support an enormously deserving woman and her family. In doing so, we hope that they can concentrate on Joanne’s comfort and healing. For the prayer warriors out there please pray and for everyone out there, ALWAYS BELIEVE!
Thank you for helping! Joanne and the Filina family greatly appreciates everything you have done and will continue to do to support them.
